Kind Words

“...One Word: Expertise. Your massage therapist or facial aesthetician can tell you the importance of every cream. You’ll leave feeling refresed, renewed relaxed – and educated.”

"The Urban Muse is more than just an award-winning spa (it’s now made our Reader’s Choice A-List for two years running), it’s also a place that gives back. For one day every month, it transforms into a sanctuary of healing for current and former cancer patients on the path to holistic wellness. The Urban Muse Melpomene Wellness Clinic, named in honor of the Greek muse of dance and song who had the inner strength to surmount grief and tragedy, is free for all cancer patients and survivors and is held on one Sunday of every month from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m...."

Excerpt from an article entitled "Sisters in Business" by Jason Koestenblatt

Tracy and Kristin Pamperin worked in graphic design in New York City until they, as well as the rest of the nation, were devastated by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

"We knew we wanted to make a difference in people's lives", said Tracy. "After that day it was just a matter of putting the plan into action. Sitting in our nice secure jobs was nice, but we didn't feel like we were doing anything to help others."

Their plan resulted in The Urban Muse, located on Broadway in Denville. The original idea, cultivated by Kristin, was to create a retail store that would sell homemade and unique jewelry.

When the siblings finally put their thoughts on paper, they realized that adding a spa would create the perfect complement. Today the business offers everything from massages to steam baths to handmade jewelry. The setting is modern yet tranquil.

Excerpt from an article entitled "The Muse of Shopping Inspires at Denville Store" by Lorraine Ash

There are stores and there are sanctuaries. The Urban Muse has melded the two into one.

Shoppers are greeted with natural scents and earth tones and rooms that flow, one into the other. Every display, every shelf, bears a reason to pause and reflect not only on the merchandise but on one's life.
