Supervisor

We currently have an extraordinary career opportunity open for someone ready to succeed on a team of multi-tasking, energetic, and tech-savvy people who focus on providing an exceptional retail and wellness experience to our customers in a holistic and supportive environment. This position will be a point person for retail and spa staff to go to when in need of assistance. The Supervisor can also direct all staff in tasks related to the shift they are working on to ensure the flow, customer experience, and that top-notch service is available in the spa and retail.

About Us

Over 19 years, The Urban Muse has been consistently voted the “Best Day Spa in NJ”. Our modern facility operates (Mon, Wed - Fri. 10am-9pm, Sat. 9am–9pm, Su. 10am-4pm, closed Tuesdays) and features a two-story holistic spa offering 2 relaxation rooms, 10 treatment rooms, 2 Infrared Saunas, a multi-person passive salt room, 3 steam showers, and a 1,000 sq. foot retail space. The Urban Muse team is staffed with 40+ employees.

About You

  • You are compassionate, outgoing, and dedicated to a high level of customer service and the ability to multi-task

  • You have worked in a successful and high-paced spa and/or retail business, and must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • You can work with a motivated team, driving growth opportunities from retail sales goals to spa excellence and service.

  • You have experience using POS and/or spa booking software

  • You demonstrate sound decision-making ability for the best needs of the business, and top-notch customer service

  • You have an eye for detail, a drive for efficiency, and a heart for hospitality

  • You are motivated, curious, and volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervisor

  • Oversee shift operations

  • Open/Close registers at the beginning/end of the day

  • Run huddles

  • Assist with all daytime/evening opening/closing functions

  • Oversee retail and provide excellent customer service

  • Handle minor customer situations and redirect to a manager when needed

  • Count safe and drawer

  • Distribute spa staff gratuities after their shift

  • Assist with finding emergency coverage

  • Make sure retail and spa are clean and ready for the day

Retail | Receptionist

  • Being knowledgeable about our spa services and retail products to assist clients on retail floor

  • Answering phones and scheduling spa appointments

  • Greeting clients, checking clients in for service and escorting clients to the spa

  • Communicating with the spa team when clients arrive

  • Checkout clients for spa services and retail products

  • Maintain the sales floor, cash wrap, and retail store environment to company standards of neat, clean, and organized for employees and customers to enjoy.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Being able to stand, go up/down stairs and move about for extended periods of time with only short rest breaks; reach, bend, stoop, etc. to handle products, laundry, and spa equipment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills specifically with; customers, sales leadership team, and associates.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast‐paced environment

  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.

  • Proficient with technology.

  • Available to work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of a retail environment, preferably in a related field (e.g., health and beauty, consumer goods, spa services).

  • Associates degree or higher is an asset but not required

SHIFTS:

We have 3 shifts each day: AM Shift: M, W - F 8:30am-4pm (Sat 8:00am – 4pm, Sun 8:30 - 5pm) | Swing Shift: 11am-6pm, | PM shift: 2:30pm – 9:30pm. We require availability for evening and weekends shifts (Sunday shift availability a must)

STORE | SPA HOURS

Mon, Wed - Fri: 10am - 9pm | Sat: 9am -9pm | Sun: 10am - 4pm
